Contribution to task representation in model-based user interface design: application to new people-organization interactions

Résumé

In the current research approaches in Human-Computer Interaction, Model Based Design (MBD) is considered as very promising. With the aim to generate a prototype of the presentation and the human-computer dialogue of interactive systems, we propose a MBD Method named TOOD (Task Object Oriented Design). TOOD covers several stages of an interactive system lifecycle. Using TOOD, it is possible to define a task model which allows to identify the objects the interactive system handles as well as the allocation of the functions between the users and the system. It is possible to formalize then the dynamic behaviour of the tasks and the objects by Object Petri Nets. Finally, the approach leads to the generation of an interface prototype derived from this task model. In this paper, we will also propose to apply it to current new interactions between people and organization.
