Interaction with agent systems for technological watch

Abstract

The boom in Internet technologies and company networks has contributed towards completely changing a good number of habits, which have been well-established in companies for several decades. Documents on paper, exchanged from hand to hand are progressively being replaced by electronic documents often accessible to all the internauts. Enterprises are set off on a race for information: being the first to find the good information becomes an essential objective to competitive enterprises. It is so important to own a fast tool of information search and distribution. Admittedly, tools have already been suggested such as: search engines, meta-engines, tools for automatic search (which set off at determined regular interval), and, more recently, information agent, capable of searching, sorting and filtering information. But teams of actors searching information need teams of agents, which acts in a cooperative way. In this paper, we present a system integrating cooperative information agents for cooperative technological watch. A first prototype has been designed and is currently used in a large company.
