A formal methodology for ergonomic design of Man-Machine interfaces
Résumé
Our paper describes a tool, called "ERGO-CONCEPTOR", for the design of Man-Machine graphical interfaces. This tool is based on Artificial Intelligence techniques and is written in Lisp, using the AIDA object-oriented graphical toolbox. This tool aims first at providing, from the technical features of a process and from its purposes, a schedule of interface specifications, including several ergonomic criteria. Secondly, it aims at helping the designer (with some formalized ergonomic information, and solutions that are specific to the considered application) while he creates graphical displays using an "intelligent" graphical editor.
