Large time simulation reduction for solving the mechanical contact problem: A fuzzy control approach

Abstract

In this paper, a fuzzy control-based method is provided to solve the unilateral contact between two elastic structures under static loads and multiple contact pairs, modeled by finite element methods. To the best author’s knowledge, this problem has been not exploited in previous literature under this approach. The objective is to achieve an important reduction of time simulation with respect to previous existing approaches for this problem. As seen in the paper, the complexity of controller is independent of the number of degree of freedom and its design does not depend on the value of external static loads
