Bending analysis of planar structures made of functionally graded material by a meshless method

Résumé

A meshless Smoothed Hydrodynamic Particle (SPH) model is established to simulate the bending deformation of 2D structures made of Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs). The material property is assumed to be varied continuously through the thickness direction according to the power-law distribution. Problems in the classical SPH formulation, like inconsistency and tensile instability are solved by introducing several techniques. Several benchmarks are selected to estimate the performance of the proposed SPH model.
