New System to Harvest Road Energy Using Piezoelectric Polymers
Résumé
Green energy is regarded as an essential element for energy production, sustainable development, technological, industrial, and governmental innovations in the world. An increase in the green energy consumption often provides a positive impact on economic growth and social development. A great deal of research has in recent years been carried out on harvesting energy using smart materials. Harvesting energy from the ambient environment has become an emerging technology for many applications, ranging from portable electric devices to renewable energy. The aim of this paper is to use mechanical energy and to show that it is an important source for producing electrical energy using the smart materials. The study investigates a smart system was used to harvest a mechanical energy by the piezoelectric effect. The piezoelectric materials have the ability to produce an electrical charge when deformed or vibrate to produce energy, so we proposed a new autonomous system by using this concept. The purpose of energy harvesting is to study the feasibility of Polyvinylidene Difluoride (PVDF) and presents a new smart speed bump system. This smart device able to supply the Microelectromechanical systems with a low power consummated. The maximum power harvested using this system is 4.108 mW/m2 achieved with 0.75% of strain at 13 Hz and the optimal resistance 1 ΩM . Such as systems are expected to play a critical role in the future autonomous smart road.
